Here are a few tips to get the most out of your time:

Sticking to a regular sleep schedule is imperative for optimal brain function. We already know this, right? Set a schedule that makes sense, but shoot for the ideal 7–9 hours each night within the same time frame. Fighting through the bad habit of staying up late is no small feat, but it’s not impossible and the benefits are beyond worth it. A helpful tip: light of any kind, but particularly blue light interrupts the production of melatonin, so one of the most effective ways to tuck yourself in is to turn off all screens and either read a book or listen to relaxing instrumental music.

3. Defeat Distractions

While we can’t completely eliminate distractions from our daily grind, we can certainly get control over the many small vices that add up to a lot of lost time. Set specific times throughout your day to check social media and email. Disable notifications on your phone, silence it altogether or, whenever possible, put it down until you really need it again. Focus, clarity and creativity thrive when we’re not pulled this way and that during important projects.
